Call for entries: 2013 Chinook Book cover contest

Put your art on next year's cover!

Chinook Book is conducting its second annual cover contest and we'd like to hear from you. We'll be choosing a cover art winner for each of the following five cities and surrounding areas. Ideally you'll be from this place or will have lived there once.

• Denver & Boulder 
• Portland, Oregon
• Seattle & Puget Sound
• Minneapolis/St Paul
• Bay Area 

Each winner will receive $500 and their art will be featured on the cover of the 2013 Chinook Book in both print and mobile, released in September 2012. Chinook Book is sold at local retailers and by hundreds of local school and non-profit groups as a community-oriented fundraiser.

Little Monkey Bizness: A Great Winter Play Place for Kids and Adults

It’s easy to start feeling a little cooped up and stir crazy around this time of year. Introducing the 2012 Chinook Book Cover Artist!

Danyl Cook “Six Fat Bees”

We held a contest for local artists to design the cover of this year’s book. The submissions were amazing, and we faced a difficult choice. In the end, we selected a charcoal drawing by Denver artist Danyl Cook. Danyl's love of nature and foreign cultures are the source of his contemporary pastel and charcoal drawings and acrylic paintings. He spent years as a professional photographer and writer and was a Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic.
